Pattern is a big theme in nature. What happens in nature is often a good indication of health and balance. Seasons, cycles, creation, and death are some aspects the pattern.
Flowers, butterfly wings, animal species, and behavior are also aspects of nature’s pattern.
Replicating is a big part of how we live. Replicating DNA, witnessing repeating sunrises and sunsets. We repeat patterns to sustain our body, eating, sleeping, eliminating ,heart beating, synapse’s clicking, cells regenerating….on and on.
We also have behavioral and emotional patterns. Human beings have particularly complex behavioral patterns. Because of our unique ability to examine the meaning of things and use our analytical brain...potential rises exponentially. Potential for everything.
This characteristic is different than instinct. Instincts just ARE and KNOW without having to explain or justify. They are true because they are.
This is different than the “logical” part of us….the part that analyzes.
Analytical thinking can be misunderstood, distorted, perceived differently by everyone. We have a lot of judgments and associations toward many analytical ideas and attitudes that produce suffering. Human beings have various customs, histories, and beliefs, that can directly offend and contradict each other. It also can be beautiful, meaningful, artistic, and wise.
So much potential!......for everything and anything. The whole spectrum. Good and bad, dark and light.
Pattern allows us to recognize the moments that add up to a “particular way of being” or habit. The help us recognize how we are AND provide an opportunity to change it…...Pattern gives us a chance to repeat or do it different.
Your whole life is made up of tiny decisions that became a pattern. The pattern of your life becomes your story and overall experience.
Recognizing your patterns (both healthy and unhealthy) is an important way to feel more empowered. Learning how to engage and influence the pattern is how we create more of the life we want.
What are your patterns?
When do you get stuck or sad?
What do you think and feel about yourself?
How do you respond to things?
How do you cope with the stresses of life.
Patterns are a pathway to change and healing. Sometimes having a person to explore them with makes improves the whole experience better.
